To implement the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program of The Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture, The Chemical Engineering Department of Universitas Jember initiates the UNEJ International Summer School on Biobased Chemicals. We invite students, as well as researchers from academia and industry working on, or interested in, biobased chemicals and related topics to join our summer school series which will be held annually. We expect this event to be a pleasant platform for exchanging ideas to generate novel insights and to produce impactful collaborations in the near future.

The 2021 Summer School with the theme of “from biomass to advanced chemicals” will present the state-of-the-art researches on biobased chemicals, defined as chemical products derived from materials of biological origin, for instance biomasses, feedstock, yet also plants, algae, crops, trees, marine organisms and biological waste. Special session (named, Young Scientist Session) will also be provided for students to get basic knowledge about biobased chemicals as well as for young scientists to share and challenge their ideas. Please ensure to do online pre-registration at: https://bit.ly/UnejSummerSchool2021.
